This policy describes the standards UPSC Geeks uses for educational material on www.upscgeeks.in and articles on blog.upscgeeks.in. It is a publishing standard, not a claim that every legacy page has completed the same depth of review.
1. Purpose and independence
We explain subjects relevant to civil services preparation without claiming to know future UPSC questions or official marking decisions. UPSC Geeks is independent of the UPSC and government authorities.
2. Source preference
For factual and time-sensitive claims, our preferred source order is:
- the Constitution, statutes, rules, judgments and official notifications;
- government reports, parliamentary material and official datasets;
- reputable academic or institutional publications; and
- reliable secondary reporting where a primary source is unavailable.
Citations should point readers to the underlying authority where practical. Source coverage is still being improved across older blog content.
3. Accuracy, analysis and neutrality
- Facts and interpretation should be distinguishable.
- Politically contested subjects should describe material viewpoints fairly.
- Statistics should identify their period and should not be presented as current indefinitely.
- Explanations should be original and should not reproduce another publisher without permission or attribution.
4. Dates and review labels
A published date indicates first publication where that record exists. An updated date indicates a recorded content change; it is not by itself proof of a comprehensive factual review. We use “reviewed” or “verified” only when a documented review actually occurred. Some older study pages currently share a migration date and need individual date and source backfilling.
5. Current affairs and changing information
Current affairs, office-holders, data, laws, schemes and examination details can change quickly. Readers should check the date and verify consequential information against the latest authoritative source.
6. AI-assisted features and content
Answer evaluations, practice scores, model answers, summaries and generated flashcards are produced on demand by AI. They can be wrong or incomplete and are not represented as official or editorially verified answers. AI output does not receive a human-review label unless a real review has taken place. Maintained study material and on-demand AI output are treated as different content types.
7. Corrections
Readers can report factual errors, outdated data, broken questions, incorrect MCQ answers, unclear explanations and technical issues via our Contact page. Please include the page, disputed statement and a reliable source. Confirmed material errors should be corrected in the content; a correction note may be added when the change is significant.
8. Affiliate links
Some blog posts contain affiliate links, including links to books. If a reader purchases through one of those links, UPSC Geeks may receive a commission at no additional cost to the reader. Affiliate status should not determine factual conclusions or placement in educational material.
9. Contact
Editorial questions and corrections can be sent to contact@upscgeeks.in.
